Method
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), brown sugar, cornstarch, beef broth, and ginger. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove beef and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to the skillet. Toss in broccoli and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce.
- Stir everything together and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
- Remove from heat and serve hot over cooked rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
Notes
You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or rib-eye for a different flavor.
The oyster sauce is optional, but it adds a rich, umami depth to the dish.
If you prefer a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers.
For a healthier option, serve the stir-fry over cauliflower rice instead of regular rice.
